Speech Language Pathologist
Jourdan is originally from Reno, Nevada. She obtained both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Nevada, Reno in Speech Pathology and Audiology. Jourdan’s practicum experience in graduate school included acute care experience at Doernbecher’s Children’s Hospital. There she helped to identify and treat pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders in medically fragile patients, including those in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Jourdan has clinical experience with pediatrics and adults diagnosed with a variety of disorders including Aphasia, Traumatic Brain Injury, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Cleft Palate, Pediatric Feeding, as well as Articulation Disorders, Fluency Disorders, and Receptive/Expressive Language Disorders and Delays. Jourdan is licensed by the board of Virginia and has her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
Jourdan hopes to facilitate relationships and establish a sense of community with those receiving therapy for Brain Injury, Aphasia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Transgender Voice modification. Jourdan now lives in Virginia Beach with her husband David and her two black labs Eddy and Louie. In her free time, she loves spending time at home with her boys, visiting local coffee shops, and going on adventures outdoors.
