Resident in Social Work and Registered Yoga Therapist
My therapeutic passion is:
Self love & Empowerment through knowledge
I believe the most important relationship we have is the one we have with ourselves. My passion aligns with offering guidance to individuals/groups to understand the way their mind-body reacts to long and short term stress & trauma, without judgement. I obtain a holistic philosophy with an eclectic approach that offers space to explore a combination of top-down and bottom-up approaches to healing.
As a former collegiate athlete, I have come to understand the impact our mental and emotional health has and continues to have on our physical health. While earning my Masters in Social Work, I learned to introduce and utilize Yoga and Personal training to help individuals heal. I continued to seek out and integrate alternative Somatic Modalities that can help identify stored stress/trauma in our bodies we may be unable to access through traditional talk therapy.
My goal as a therapist is to create a holding space for individuals to feel safe enough to observe and explore thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations they hold within. This practice guides individuals to ground, find inner stillness and provide awareness to better identify the areas we may be struggling, thus the ability to create mind-body coping tools.
The modalities I incorporate within the practice include but are not limited to:
Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Psychodynamic theory, Strength based, Integrative Trauma Informed Somatic work, Interpersonal, Attachment theory, Embodiment, Trauma informed Yoga, Meditation, Visualizations, Breathing exercises, Psychoeducation of Nervous system, Mindful movement and techniques, and more.
As a military wife I have been able to travel and live around the country. This has fed my love for travel, culture and the outdoors. I am a mother to a little boy and a southern rescue dog. I am a registered Yoga Instructor and I thoroughly enjoy incorporating mindfulness into my own self-care. I love all things music, sunshine, nature and comedy.
